Maid of Honor

Hello All! My name is Alissa and I have the immense privilege of being Emma’s maid of honor. Emma and I met because the 520 closed on a Sunday and she popped into Woodinville Alliance one Sunday morning. Our friendship is founded on divine construction 🚧 🥁.The Lord brought me a GOOD friend when I needed one most and I’m forever grateful for her friendship in my life. It’s been a joy celebrating Gods providence over Emma’s life the last two years and I’m excited to celebrate it for years to come! Some of my favorite things to do near by? Hike Rattlesnake Ledge and other fun lookouts or waterfall hikes. I also love wine tasting around Woodinville! Let me know if you want a winery recommendation while you’re in town!

Best Man

Jonny’s been my best bud since he first moved to Redmond and I forced my friendship upon him. We’ve packed a lot of fun into these years as long as you count watching bad movies and Jonny not showing up on time as fun. Only once have I considered ending our friendship as he lied to me for months that he’d like to be called Jonathan. He is an incredible friend who has been there for me in the best and the worst of the last 6 years and was truly the best third wheel you could ask for.

I met Emma through church—carpool rides and post-service dumplings turned into a fast friendship. I’m a private chef by day and ice cream inventor by night, and I bring a big Midwestern heart, a love for adventure, and a soft spot for good food into just about everything I do. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me rowing on Lake Washington, walking the Sammamish River Trail, or grabbing an iced Local at Sidekick. I love any excuse to gather people around a great meal and shared experience. I love Emma’s silly sense of humor and how easily she laughs, her fierce heart for the brokenhearted, and her steadfast, deep love of the Lord—I feel really lucky to call her a friend. I can’t wait to celebrate her and Jonny on their wedding day!

Similar to Jonny, I hit the online (friend) dating jackpot when I met Emma! We connected on Bumble BFF, and it didn’t take long for us to become fast friends. I love staying active through softball, snowboarding, and nature walks with my dog, but I also enjoy trying new restaurants and bars with friends and making new memories. (I highly recommend The Shed rooftop bar and grill at the Somm Hotel in Woodinville) I am so incredibly excited to stand beside this beautiful bride and celebrate such a special day!

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Emma since she and Katie hit it off—especially during a girls’ trip we all took to Ireland! Emma and I even spontaneously spent 48 hours in Scotland, and getting that quality time together really solidified what I already knew: she’s an incredible woman, and someone I’m so grateful to stand beside today. I love traveling and adventure, especially with my dog. I’m a big fan of trying new foods and experiences, and I’m always up for a good laugh, which is something Emma and I definitely share. I also appreciate the simple joys of relaxing and occasionally binge-watching a comfort show or two (I highly recommend New Girl). I feel so lucky to be standing by Emma’s side on her special day!

I’m so grateful to stand beside Emma as one of her bridesmaids. Emma and I didn’t know each other before college, but we ended up rooming together at Auburn, which turned out to be one of the best surprises. What started as being roommates quickly grew into a genuine friendship filled with lots of laughs, sharing and re-enacting memes, and spending time together after long days of classes. Emma has such a genuine heart and a calm, grounding presence that makes everyone around her feel at ease. It has been such a blessing to walk through life with her. I can’t express how much she has impacted me. I feel incredibly grateful to have shared so many memories with her in college, and even more grateful for the opportunity to continue creating new ones in the years ahead. Since I don’t live in Seattle, my favorite things to do in the area involve following Emma’s lead, especially if it includes pho.

Emma and I met at church when she first moved to Seattle, and it has been so special to watch her grow into the beautiful, confident woman she is today. She is someone I deeply admire especially for her faith, grace, and the way she carries herself. She has truly been such a lovely example to look up to. One of my favorite things to do in the area is wander through Pike Place, admire the view of the Sound, pick up fresh flowers, and enjoy cultured ice cream from Hellenika. It’s one of those simple little joys that feels especially magical in Seattle.

I’ve had the privilege of getting to know and become known by Emma through one of Meadowbrook Church’s community groups. Through Emma’s fun and gentle demeanor, deeply compassionate soul, and thoughtful intention she quickly grew from Jonny’s lovely girlfriend, to a “he better never let this girl go!” kind of woman, to a treasured friend. She is observant and easy to share with, sincere with her love, and so subtly delivers perfectly timed jokes and spot-on references that deliver burst after burst of laughter! To be around Emma (and Jonny, together) is a gift of joy; they are exceptional at spreading love and a sense of belonging to those around them. My family - me, my husband, and our two precious little boys - have been so lucky to enjoy their friendship and witness the beautiful growing roots of a marriage that I believe God has so lovingly delighted in crafting, to witness to those around them. I’m so honored to stand beside these two incredible people and encourage them toward continually reaching for each other as they build their life together - whether on the pickleball court, on the sidelines of a Mariners game, in inflatable costumes, riding a late night lightrail, or in the thick of puppy parenting. Praying that God continues to bless you both in this beautiful display of friendship in marriage!

From 6th grade through our time as college roommates and beyond, Jonny has been like a brother to me. Since 2009, we’ve challenged one another in everything from backyard sports and academics to marathon sessions of Smash Bros. Whether we were in the middle of a deep theological discussion or competing to see who could make the most puns out of candy bar names, we were always pushing towards excellence and laughing all along the way. Yes, Jonny usually came out on top, but the real win has been our friendship. I’ve seen firsthand how the Lord has used Jonny to sharpen and encourage me in my walk with Christ, and I pray our friendship continues far into the future (Hebrews 10:24-25). It is a true privilege to stand by your side, Jonny—thanks for always standing by mine.

I’ve had the privilege of knowing Jonny since we were in the 6th grade together. Back before he was a Jonny and was just a Jonathan instead. Our friendship grew through playing basketball together and many AP Bio study sessions in high school before we went off to Texas A&M together where our friendship only deepened. We had many long nights in college together filled with Office marathons, debates over whether shorts are pants, and more importantly, many, many deep conversations. Jonathan has been a loyal and joyful friend over the years who stood by my side on my own wedding day. I can’t wait to return the favor now on his own wedding day!

Jonny’s eyes glimmered after his first date with Emma. I am beyond excited to celebrate what Jonny believed then and they both know now: Jonny + Emma is forever!!!! When I moved to Washington, Jonny was my first friend! We started with a burger at the Tipsy Cow after my second Sunday at Meadowbrook Church, and we haven’t looked back. We’ve munched on many meals, pickled at Perrigo Park, skied the slopes, and served our Savior. I know you are gonna be blessed by how he serves you, Emma! Can’t wait to party with all of you who are reading this! Praise God.

I first met Jonny during our sophomore year of high school. We weren’t super close back then, but we reconnected at Texas A&M and ended up as roommates, where our friendship took off. Living together meant a lot of time spent talking about sports, faith, board games, and, perhaps most importantly, baiting our other roommates into some of the most obscure and unnecessary debates imaginable. Even after Jonny moved to Seattle, we’ve stayed close, but it hasn’t always been smooth sailing. For example, just a few months ago he jinxed me and cost me my fantasy football championship, for which I may never forgive him. Despite that betrayal, it’s been awesome seeing how happy Jonny is with Emma. I’m really grateful for our friendship and pumped to celebrate the two of them!

Jonny and I met at the Aggie Baptist Student Ministry around Sophomore year. Even then, I was blessed to have met a smart and godly friend who was always honest about his own life and struggles. Even since graduating, Jonny has been one of the most consistent attendees of our communal college group vacations despite living so far. I’m proud to have the honor of being one of his groomsmen. Emma sure is a lucky girl.
